One of my dream jobs would be to take over from Jim Johnston and be the composer for WWE wrestlers entrance themes. What an amazing job. Entrance themes are the one thing that WWE does better than any other wrestling company, they put a lot of effort into this, which really helps the product and getting superstars over with fans. Would The Rock or Stone Cold have been as popular with less iconic themes? Probably, but it helped, fans would go crazy when the glass smashed or when they heard “If Ya Smeeeellllll”. A good theme can do a lot for a superstar, more modern examples are Becky Lynch, Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura, the crowd gets so involved singing along.

So I have gone back through the archives and put together my list of the greatest WWE entrance themes, in no particular order:

Triple H – The Game

Triple H in the day was a badass, and what better way to get yourself across as badass than to get Motorhead to do your entrance theme. As soon as that first chord strikes you knew who was on their way down.

CM Punk – Cult of Personality

CM Punk’s first WWE theme ‘This Fire Burns’ by Killswitch Engage was iconic, however when he changed to ‘Cult of Personality’ by Living Colour it really signified his move to the top of WWE. A great song which has become synonymous with the chick magnet.

Edge – Metalingus

I loved this theme by Alter Bridge, never really liked the band, but this song got you pumped. I was never a really big fan of Edge either, but it made me care about his matches

Chris Jericho – Break The Walls Down

“Break The Walls DOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWN” Just Iconic.

Shayna Baszler – Loyalty Is Everything

This theme song is awesome, I love it, one of my favourite themes from a current superstar. Kick ass and memorable guitar riffs, this song sticks around in my head after every NXT TakeOver.

The Undisputed Era – Undisputed

Boom!

Mankind/Mick Foley – Wreck

Simple as it may be, this theme is simply wonderful. It really captures the jovial nature of the later incarnation of Mankind. This was the first wrestling theme I ever learned on guitar.

Dusty Rhodes – Common Man Boogie

A proper classic, the song actually makes your body do the Dusty dance. He was given an awful costume, but he had a killer entrance theme.

Gallows & Anderson – Omen In The Sky

It’s a real shame that we don’t see more of the Good Brothers on WWE television, as their theme is great. Even when they are on TV they usually get a jobber entrance and we still don’t get to hear it.

Stone Cold – Won’t Do What You Tell Me

Fight me, I prefer the Disturbed version of Stone Colds entrance theme. I think it perfectly fitted the Heel Stone Cold we got near the end of his tenure with WWE.

The Wyatt Family – Live In Fear

Such a pretty song on the outside, but it’s so dark, and it fitted Bray and The Wyatt Family perfectly. It’s one of those entrance themes that you just want to keep going and going, ‘don’t blow the lantern out yet Bray’.

Christian – At Last

This forgotten gem is so epic. Opera, guitar riffs and metal solo’s.

Aleister Black – Root Of All Evil

This was amazing when it was played live by Code Orange and Incendiary at TakeOver Brooklyn III, for Aleister Black’s entrance.

D-Lo Brown – You Better Recognize

I couldn’t leave this Attitude Era classic out.

I’ve probably missed out loads, but these are my personal favourites, let me know your favourite WWE Entrance Theme. Follow me on twitter HERE and if you like looking at all sorts of nerdy things, subscribe to our YouTube channel HERE.
