(Keep refreshing page to get updates)

21:01 – And we’re off! The Ubisoft panel kick’s off with the Assassin’s Creed symphony. I guess we’re getting a new Assassin’s Creed then? I’ve never played Assassin’s Creed but as a big fan of film and video game scores, I can appreciate this.

21:07 – Just a thought, do they still release Just Dance games on the Wii?

WATCH DOGS: LEGION

21:08 – Watch Dogs? Must be.
21:10 – Someone’s watched a Guy Ritchie movie, haven’t they. That accent is terrible. Fah-kin hell.
21:11 – Pretty weird that they keep showing the main character die in this showcase. That doesn’t usually happen.
21:12 – Ahh there’s multiple characters. Now we’re shown a seemingly little old lady. This game looks fun.
21:15 – I wonder how accurate this London is geographically. It’s anything close to how Manhattan was rendered in Spider-Man, that will be awesome.
21:19 – Ok, this looks cool. I enjoyed the first game for the most part but the main character was bland. Having multiple main characters (what were there, like 15?) keeps things interesting. Would have liked to have seen more of the old lady though.
21:20 – They’ve made a point to say that this is set in a post-Brexit London. A terrifying thought.
21:21 – Apparently you can play as literally every single person in the game. You can be whoever the hell you want. That’s insane. Probably still play as Grandma though.

MYTHIC QUEST: RAVEN’S QUEST

21:25 – A good start for Ubisoft. Hang on…. that’s Mac from It’s Always Sunny In The Philadelphia!!! What? Is this going to be the long awaited Sunny mobile game?
21:26 – Ok, It’s not for the Sunny game, it’s for something called Mythic Quest?
21:28 – Ok, it’s a new TV show by the Sunny crew coming to Apple TV. Not quite sure what this has to do with Ubisoft.
21:30 – Ok, that was… a thing? Can’t say that trailer made me want to watch the show, and I’m a HUGE fan of Always Sunny.

21:32 – Still confused by Mythic Quest. Not entirely sure what’s happening now.
21:32 – A DLC or update for Rainbow Six. Very James Bond looking. Don’t care.
21:34 – Something to do with Adventure Time now and Brawlhalla. Ah ok, Jake and the dog are new characters in Brawlhalla. Sure. Why not.

TOM CLANCY’S GHOST RECON: BREAKPOINT

21:35 – The crowd are cheering at a mask, must be something popular that I don’t recognise. I do recognise Jon Bernthal though, aka The Punisher or Shane from Walking Dead. He’s in shouty, angry mode.
21:37 – Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon. Missed the full title. Jon Bernthal has taken to the stage.
21:39 – He did the usual “Glad to be working with *insert company* shtick but was nowhere near as cool as Keanu Reeves doing it yesterday.
21:41 – Ghost Recon: Delta something or other is being talked about now. Somewhere that fans can chat or something. Didn’t quite catch that.
21:43 – BETA opens on September 5th for those interested.
21:44 – Yet another Terminator tie-in from the seems of things, following yesterday Gears announcement. Think I’d rather just play a decent Terminator game than either Gears or this.

TOM CLANCY’S ELITE SQUAD

21:45 – Is this more Tom Clancy stuff?
21:46 – Tom Clancy Fortnite?
21:47 – Ah ok, Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad. Was that a mobile game? Not sure.

JUST DANCE 2020

21:47 – Was about to say how good these graphics looked until I looked properly and realised they were real people. This has got to be for Just Dance.
21:48 – Yep, definitely Just Dance. Looks like we’re getting a whole dance number to Panic At The Disco. Time for a cigarette break.

UPDATE: So it turns out Just Dance 2020 is indeed getting a release on the Nintendo Wii. I was only half joking earlier. Crazy.

21:50 – Didn’t they show this last year? Is this still not out? Forgot what it was called though.
21:52 – If this isn’t the same game, it’s very similar to something shown last year. Some samurai game. I didn’t catch the title. You’re welcome for all this amazing coverage courtesy of Nerdface.

TOM CLANCY’S RAINBOW SIX: OUTBREAK

21:53 – Yet another Zombie game. At least they’re making the effort to make it look different to others.
21:54 – Ah, yet another Tom Clancy game, Rainbow Six: Outbreak. Is this a DLC or a whole new game? Oh it’s a whole new game.

TOM CLANCY’S THE DIVISION 2

21:55 – I knew we were gonna get a Tom Clancy game, but is this the 4th one now?
21:57 – Ah ok, The Division 2 is already out. The new announcement is that it will be 100% free to play. To all those who paid for it already… unlucky, suckers!
22:01 – ‘The Division’ the movie will be on Netflix starring Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal. Good new for fans I suppose

22:03 – Ubisoft are announcing there own streaming service. $14.99 a month. Pfft. Nah, I’m good.
22:04 – How many subscriptions services are there going to be? It’s getting stupid now.

ROLLER CHAMPIONS

22:05 – Now here’s one I am interested in.
22:06 – This looks like it could be fun, something different.
22:07 – Tom Clancy’s Roller Champions?
22:08 – The demo will be available straight after this conference! Nice.

22:10 – We’re coming to the end of the show now, fingers crossed for a new Rayman!
22:11 – Seeing people on the Twitch stream wanting Splinter Cell. Haven’t we had enough Tom Clancy for one evening? WHAT MORE DO YOU GUYS WANT? Oh right yeah, Splinter Cell I guess.
22:11 – That was the most awkward hug ever.
22:12 – This better be Rayman.
22:13 – It’s not Rayman.
22:13 – It’s Gods & Monsters. Looks very Zelda like. Didn’t get to see much, but sure.
22:14 – Was that the end?
22:15 – I guess that was the end. That was abrupt.

SUMMARY

Well it started off strong. Watch Dogs: Legion looks pretty damn cool. But then it went downhill from there. Roller Champions could be fun, I’ll be downloading that demo tomorrow morning. But other than that it was a Tom Clancy fest, and a weird trailer for a new show by the guys from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia which didn’t look particularly good. I didn’t care much for that showcase at all. I’d say that ties with Bethesda’s press conference for worst in show so far.

So as it stands, Microsoft are still “stealing” the show, but with Square Enix and Nintendo still to go, there is still plenty to look forward to. I won’t be live blogging Square’s presentation as it will be 2am here in the UK but I will offer my thoughts in the morning (very excited to see how Marvel’s Avengers and Final Fantasy VII are looking), however I will be back at 5pm to live blog through the Nintendo Direct. I imagine it will focus on Pokemon Sword & Shield but hopefully we’ll get some nice surprises.

Until then!
