PUP by PUP, 2013

With their recent album release ‘Morbid Stuff’ back in April, here at the NERDFACE camp this month we have been listening to Canadian Punks PUP’s 2013 self titled debut album.

This album didn’t leave my cars CD player for a long time after I first got it a few years ago. PUP have a raw energy that is a fresh take on classic Punk Rock. Stand out tracks ‘Reservoir’, ‘Yukon’, And ‘Dark Days’ (Full track listing below) are full of great riffs, relatable lyrics and good times.

Lead singer and guitarist Stefan Babcock has a unique voice with a beautifully harsh rasp to it, that stands out against the rest. With 3 albums to date, PUP are a band to keep your eye on, as they continue to grow musically and as a band. Fantastic live if you ever get a chance to see them.

‘PUP’ by PUP gets a Stupid Ross rating of 8/10.
